Fractographic Analysis of Glass

A typical glass fracture analysis will be performed following these steps:

  • Reconstruction of the object: it is important to have all the fragments because the origin could be located on a missing fragment.
  • Establishment of a breakage map in order to go back to the original point (initiation) of the breakage.
  • Search for causes that may be at the origin of the breakage by an in-depth study of this original location.
  • Drafting of a report detailing the mechanism of the rupture in consultation with you.
